Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A private passenger van carrying five crashed on the highway near Puerto Morelos Wednesday. The afternoon accident left traffic backed up for kilometers as emergency services responded to the 3:30 p.m. single vehicle crash.
Five people from inside the private transport van were injured after the driver allegedly hit the highway median. That caused him to swerve, leaving the road at highway speed where he finally came to a stop in brush.
Along the way, the front of the van was smashed in from a hit. Five from inside were treated on site. Firemen were called to help contain vehicle fluid leakage.
