Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Five people were rescued Sunday after their vessel took on water and sank due to strong winds. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. near Garrafón Park off Isla Mujeres.
Elements of the Municipal Police, along with paramedics and Civil Protection personnel, arrived at the scene to provide support to the five soaked boaters. There were no injuires reported.
However, Ministerial Police reported transferring those responsible to the Port Authority to verify the status of the vessel and carry out the corresponding procedures.
