Figures report Costa Mujeres as most occupied tourist destination in state

Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Costa Mujeres is reportedly the busiest destination in the state with a hotel occupancy rate of over 80 percent. On Monday, Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde reported the figures according to the Secretary of Tourism.

Ricalde says that Costa Mujeres continues to lead the way in hotel occupancy rates in Quintana Roo, closing the first half of July with 83.8 percent, according to the Secretary of Tourism (Sedetur) of Quintana Roo.

She says the continued figures place the municipality of Isla Mujeres as the best ranked in the Mexican Caribbean for more than half a year.

These results are thanks to the commitment to the destination of the municipal mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde, who has given priority to cleaning, promotion and attention to tourism.

Ricalde says the second busiest destination in the state has been Cancun with a 77.6 percent occupancy rate followed by the insular area (the island) of Isla Mujeres, which closed the week with 77 percent.
