José María Morelos, Q.R. — Emergency services was requested in the middle of the night Tuesday after a large fuel truck overturned. The upside down truck was found on a section of the José María Morelos federal highway during the still-dark early morning hours.
National Guard Highways were able to find the double-long semi along highway 184 after the 2:00 a.m. report of the overturn. At the scene they located a loaded fuel truck laying on its roof across both lanes.
The driver was on his way to the community of Chunhuhub when he overturned taking corner.
Police units also showed up. A tow truck driver was called out of bed in the middle of the night to upright the loaded double long semi and tow it. The entire process took nearly seven hours.
Traffic was backed up for kilometers due to the single vehicle accident. The highway was reopened shortly before 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. The driver of the semi was treated for minor abrasions.
