Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — The rehabilitation of the Costa Mujeres highway at Playa Mujeres is 40 percent complete. Marcos Velázquez Cabrera, the General Director of Public Works for Isla Mujeres, reported the progress, saying that new signs will also be installed.
Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde says the Continental road is a priority and is being upgraded due to its tourism success. Ricalde reported that currently, work is being done on patching and resurfacing the most damaged sections in two of four kilometers, which is the total extension of the section to be repaired.
The road is expected to be finished in mid-August.
