Cozumel, Q.R. — Forensic medical personnel were called to a Cozumel address late Thursday to remove a woman’s body. The woman was shot four times at the Adolfo Rosado Salas Street business shortly after 11:00 p.m.
A young man who was injured and tried to flee the area after the attack was located and questioned by police. He was treated by paramedics for a minor head injury and transferred to hospital under police guard.
The 42-year-old now-deceased woman is reported to have been an employee of the business. Outside the shop police lifted two shell casings. At least two more were reportedly found inside the building where he body was found.
A neighbor who heard the shots called emergency services. Police have not provided details surrounding the shooting.
