Cozumel hotel kitchen worker dies after gas explosion

Cozumel, Q.R. — A hotel kitchen worker in Cozumel has died after a gas explosion that happened last week. An explosion inside the kitchen of a large hotel chain on Cozumel cost one worker his life.

The kitchen explosion happened during the afternoon of July 17, but was not made public. During the explosion, one hotel worker was transferred to hospital with second and third degree burns. On July 26, he died.

According to information collected, Oswaldo N from Chiapas received second and third degree burns to his body during the 3:00 p.m. gas explosion inside the hotel’s kitchen. The hotel is located at kilometer 17 of the southern coastal highway. An accumulation of gas has been the said cause of the deadly explosion.
