Chetumal, Q.R. — A public transport combi driver is being held responsible for the death of a man. The man died after being struck by the public van while driving his motorcycle. His body was found in roadside greenery several meters from the initial accident site.
The accident happened on a section of the Chetumal-Bacalar highway. Police and firemen were part of the response team after the van and bike caught fire.
According to early information, the motorcycle became caught up under the front end of the combi and was dragged. In doing so, the bike’s fuel tank spilled and caught fire, which quickly spread to the combi. The combi driver and his passengers were able to get out before the van became fully engulfed.
