Cancun, Q.R. — Governor Lezama says the CFE has agreed to invest more than 300 million pesos for underground wiring along Colosio Boulevard. Lezama reported that after a meeting with Manuel Bartlett Díaz, the head of the CFE, he agreed to the investment.
Lezama says she already has an agreement with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the authorization to carry out the CFE project. She says that the new the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) underground wiring will run from the Kabah road distributor to the Cancun International Airport with an extension of 10 kilometers in both directions.
Lezama says that underground wiring is more stable during storms such as hurricanes, where the risk of poles falling and damage to overhead wires is eliminated.
According to a statement by Lezama, the CFE will start the work immediately since the boulevard is currently under reconstruction.
