Cancun, Q.R. — A couple who had just arrived in Cancun from California Thursday found themselves in need of emergency medical assistance. The couple, who were traveling with their young son, were in a taxi leaving the Cancun International Airport when their 11-month-old began to choke.
The taxi driver, who had picked them up from the airport, rushed to the C5 Security Complex of Cancun where he requested help since, according to the child’s mother, the boy was not responding.
There, police officers from inside were able to assist in unblocking the child’s airway and get him breathing. During that time, an ambulance was requested who took the family to hospital where the child was provided with a medical evaluation.
