Chetumal, Q.R. — Two Chetumal taxi drivers walked away from an accident Wednesday afternoon in the city center. One of the involved taxis ended up on its roof after being sideswiped by another city cab.
Witnesses to the accidnet told police that one of the taxis invaded the lane of another, causing him to swerve and hit the central median where he overturned. The driver from inside the overturned cab was not seriously injured and was able to walk away from the Heriberto Frías Avenue accidnet.
Transit officers were sent to the scene where they found the two badly damaged Chetumal taxis. Ambulances were not called since neighter driver was seriously hurt in the afternoon mishap.
Firemen from the Chetumal Fire Department were requested at the scene for cleanup due to an excess of spilled fluids.
