Riviera Maya, Q.R. — The body of a man reported to be of American nationality has been found on a Riviera Maya beach. Local authorities were made aware of the finding of the deceased man early Thursday morning.
Security guards from a Riviera Maya hotel on the border of Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos reported discovering the body around 8:00 a.m. Police were sent to interview the guards.
According to preliminary information, the now-deceased is around 50 year old. He is not believed to have been a hotel guest, however, police have not confirmed if he was a resident or visitor.
Additional information surrounding the discovery and identity of the man has not been released.
