Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — On Monday, the body of a man was found by boatmen floating in the sea near Isla Mujeres. The passing boatmen, who made the discovery off Playa Lancheros, notified authorities.
Personnel from the Mexican Navy undertook a search to locate the body, which was found floating face down. The unidentified man, who, due to his clothing was presumed to have been a beachgoer, was removed from the water and transferred to the Forensic Medical Service.
Authorities say the man could have been from an island beach or from the Continental Zone, either of which, would have seen him pulled deeper into the sea. An investigation is underway.
