Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Three island fishermen were forced into the sea Thursday after a boat rammed into their cabin. The three young men were inside attending to cages when the roof suddenly collapsed.
The incident happened at the end of a fishing pier early Thursday when a private vessel finished gassing up. While leaving the dock, the distracted capital failed to notice an oncoming catamaran.
In order to avoid a collision, the captain swerved sharply, ramming into the cabin at the end of the pier. While the fishermen were not hurt, they did report losing their gear into the sea along with personal items such as cell phones.

The private boat “Adventure” has just finished gassing up for a trip to Guatemala at the time of the accident. Personnel from the Harbor Master’s Office were at the scene. Port authorities did not provide information on possible charges.
