Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — Work continues on the repair of the island’s Perimetral del Mar Caribe with the construction of an alternate road. Isla Mujeres Mayor Atenea Gómez Ricalde says the municipal government continues to work on the alternate road after sinkhole damage was left behind by Hurricane Helen.
She says the construction of the alternate road for the highway is across from the sinkhole caused by Hurricane Helen. Currently pouring work is underway by crews “using resistant materials that meet the necessary quality standards to ensure this roadway is functional and safe.”
Through the Public Works Department, crews are also conducting a thorough review of the finishes and surface quality at each stage of the process to ensure the work is executed with precision and commitment.
In total, this new project includes the reconstruction of 90 linear meters of roadway, as well as the construction of new curbs and sidewalks.
