Akumal Arts Festival celebrates 4th Edition January 28 to 30

Akumal, Q.R. — Once a year, over 100 artists come together in the pueblo of Akumal to paint murals, offer workshops, performances, engage with the local community and each other.

We are excited to announce the 4th edition of the Akumal Arts Festival (AAF). A community driven event, the AAF has been a time of arts, activism, cultural exchange and empowerment for the children of Akumal Pueblo.

We are especially excited and grateful that this year we are supported by Hublot as our official partner. Thanks to our major sponsors Third Rail Arts, Tulum Inside Out, and Angelus Brand. Their contributions will allow us to improve our community efforts and our educational programs for the children of Akumal.

Please join us for a weekend of creativity, goodwill and magic in the Mexican Caribbean. This year’s event runs January 28 to 30, 2022.

Akumal Arts Festival is a global community-based initiative. The vision is to bring an art festival to Akumal Pueblo through an international consortium of artists who make art, involving the community, improve and beautify the city for the locals and our many visitors throughout the world.

More than 100 artists will arrive in Akumal to paint murals, offer workshops and participate in the 4th Annual Akumal Arts Festival.

The Opening Ceremony begins on Friday, January 28 at 4:00 pm on the Bridge of Akumal.

Live performances and entertainment, followed by DJ Friday, Saturday, Sunday January 28 to 30, 2022, 5:00 PM M. To 1:00 a.m. Throughout the festival weekend, artists will offer a variety of workshops for all ages and experience levels.

Since 2018, the Akumal Arts Festival has sponsored more than 380 murals painted on the bridge and throughout the town and has offered hundreds of art classes and provided two full scholarships for two young people from Akumal to attend university.
