Isla Mujeres, Q.R. — An operation in Isla Blanca ended with the arrest of 12 people on drug-related charges. In an information release, authorities said the 12 were taken into custody Friday afternoon during an operation on the Continental Mainland of Isla Mujeres.
The operation, conducted by Quintana Roo Police, located the 12 at the end of the hotel zone of Isla Blanca where criminals are known to sell drugs and charge floor fees. It was there police located the 12, whom they detail are between the ages of 28 and 67.
The group was taken into custody after elements located a variety of drugs and hundreds in American and Mexican cash. Arresting police also seized communication equipment, drug paraphernalia and three vehicles.
