Two charged with Puerto Morelos kidnapping after being captured near the scene

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The State FGE says two men that were arrested during a kidnapping rescue have been charged. The rescue took place last week at an abandoned ranch in the municipality of Puerto Morelos. The two men, now charged, were captured near the ranch after a chase from the city of Cancun.

Charged are Jorge “N” and Irving Eugenio “N,” who were arrested during an operation at an abandoned ranch located along the Leona Vicario highway, where human skeletal remains were also found.

“According to preliminary investigations, the suspects deprived a mother and her son of their liberty, taking them to the scene of the crime, demanding 60,000 pesos in payment for their release. Failure to comply would result in their death,” the FGE said.

The day after their rescue, authorities returned to the ranch where they found two bodies had been buried in concrete.
