Bodies found buried in concrete on ranch where two people were rescued the day before

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — UPDATED: Two bodies were found buried on a property Thursday after the rescue of two kidnapped people the day before. On Wednesday, a woman and her adult son were rescued after being held captive on the ranch for two days.

Authorities located the held man and woman during a jungle search for armed men.

On Thursday, police returned to the ranch with forensics where they discovered a grave. The ranch is located along a highway outside the town of Leona Vicario in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.

Forensic services personnel were brought in Thursday to inspect the ranch. Within a few hours, they located two bodies covered in concrete in an improvised grave.

The unidentified woman and man were rescued from that same ranch Wednesday after a police chase that started along José López Portillo Avenue in Cancun ended at the ranch. Police were in pursuit of the vehicle in response to citizen reports of armed men inside.

Police located the car and began their pursuit around 2:00 p.m. that ended at the ranch when the men inside the car stopped near the ranch and ran into the jungle to evade capture.

Police scoured the jungle, managing to locate the pair from inside the car. In custody are Irving Eugenio “N” and Jorge “N”, who, according to available information, were arrested with a backpack of narcotics and a cell phone.

Initial investigations indicate that the pair were monitoring the ranch and were responsible for holding the woman and her son captive since Monday with the intention of demanding a ransom.
