Othón P. Blanco, Q.R. — A suspect wanted for human trafficking in the form of prostitution has been arrested. On Wednesday, Othón P. Blanco taxi driver Jorge Antonio “N” was served an arrest warrant by FGE Investigative Police.
“The State Attorney General’s Office reports that the Investigative Police completed an arrest warrant against Jorge Antonio “N” for his probable participation in the crime of human trafficking in the form of prostitution,” they reported.
The detained is also accused of “moral violence and threats of serious harm” to the detriment of the female victim who has not been publicaly identified.
“The first acts of investigation indicate that since July 2022, the accused, a taxi driver, was in charge of bringing the victim to provide sexual services. If she did not comply, she was punished with a fine,” they explained.
During the month of November 2022, the victim made several deposits to Jorge Antonio “N” for non-compliance, they added. “When a service was cancelled, Jorge Antonio “N” forced her to have sexual relations,” the FGE said in their statement.
After his capture, Jorge Antonio “N” was transferred to the Social Reintegration Center (Cereso) of Chetumal.
