Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Three municipal taxi drivers have been charged for “attacking a tourist”, the State Attorney General (FGE) reported. José Alberto “N”, Alberto Daniel “N” y Bryan “N” are also facing charges of drug dealing.
The accused are related to the assault on a tourist whom they intimidated. The three Puerto Morelos taxi drivers were captured on video intimidating the tourist, forcing him to cancel his ride with Uber and use their taxi service instead.
The driver of the Uber, who had arrived to pick up the man as requested, videoed the intimidation tactic by at least three Puerto Morelos taxi drivers. That December 11 video went viral and was used as evidence by local authorities.
“The three men were arrested by members of the Investigative Police, who upon conducting a search, found narcotics,” the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE) said in a statement.
