Puerto Morelos police start crime and corruption training course

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Police in Puerto Morelos spent part of their long weekend in training. Municipal officers began training in crime and corruption taught by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office.

Municipal officers sat through their first day of the “Prevention of crimes due to acts of corruption” course which was given to elements of the Municipal Secretariat of Public Security and Traffic.

The one week course is being taught by the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office in Combating Corruption to strengthen the Public Security police with the purpose of preventing acts of corruption by action or omission.

During the opening, prosecutor Rosaura Villanueva Arzápalo announced that for one week, the training will be given to Puerto Morelos police officers and elements of the Secretary of the Navy (Semar) with the aim of maintaining close coordination to combat corruption.

She explained that the course will cover topics of reflection, ethics, integrity and the importance of the work that uniformed personnel do every day to guarantee the safety of the population.

In her message, the Municipal Comptroller Leticia Ramírez Cetina, thanked the staff of the Prosecutor’s Office for teaching the workshop and highlighted that from awareness and knowledge, one must act in accordance with the rules and be aware of the possible faults that may arise from inappropriate actions.

Puerto Morelos Mayor Bianca Merari Tziu Muñoz also thanked the Special Prosecutor’s Office for teaching the workshop that will provide great benefits among Public Security personnel.

Speakers Juan Carlos May Góngora and Ernesto Zacapala Bernabé are also participating in the weeklong workshop.
