Holbox, Q.R. — Holbox will participate in a campaign aimed at attracting tourists from Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the United States. It will be the first time island businesses have taken part in this type of promotion.
Roberto Cintrón Gomez, president of the Cancun, Puerto Morelos and Isla Mujeres Hotel Association says on September 16, they will launch the second stage of a campaign for the hotel sector called Come2MexicanCaribbean to attract more tourism. Cintrón says that this time, the campaign will include Holbox.
The idea is to continue with promotions by hotels and tourism companies to attract travelers to various destinations with the “we want you here” slogan, he explained.
He said that for this campaign, 230 companies will be participating, a majority of which are hotels, but pointed out that theme parks, car rental companies, golf courses and travel agencies are also involved.
“For this second campaign we will be covering Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the United States…to give incentives to travelers,” he said.
During 2020, they launched this digital ad campaign as part of the economic reactivation, generating nine million ad impressions during the months of July and August.
During the summer, the Hotel Association reported positive occupancy figures, reaching as high as 70 percent, however, they are hoping to close the year with better numbers, which is why they are launching the digital campaign again in mid-September.
Cintrón mentioned that they are working with both businesses and state authorities to continue positioning the state’s destination.
