Temósachi, Chihuahua — National Guard Highways shut a section of Chihuahua highway over the weekend after a heavy snowfall. The mountainous region received an overnight dump that left 21 municipalities covered in heavy wet snow.

“Elements of the National Guard implemented security and accident prevention operations on roads where snowfall was recorded due to the presence of the second winter storm, which interacts with cold front number 21,” Guardia Nacional reported.
Personnel from the Chihuahua Road Safety Sections, together with authorities from Civil Protection, Municipal Police and the Fire Department, provided surveillance and traffic control on roads due to the weather conditions.
In order to protect the safety of motorists, the National Guard also implemented intermittent traffic closures on roads affected by frozen asphalt and snow accumulation.
