Cancun, Q.R. — Patrolling beach police were assisted by citizens Sunday after rolling their ATV. Police were driving the machine on a Cancun dune around noon when it rolled.
The Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) vehicle came to a stop on its side after encountering an unstable sand bank near Playa Delfines. Elements of the Navy and Tourist Police, who were inside th ATV at the time, were not injured.
Several nearby lifeguards, with the help of a couple of citizens, helped to push the ATV back to its upright position.
Authorities were using the vehicle to patrol city beaches during one of the busiest weekends of the year at the time of the incident.
