Cancun, Q.R. — Two city youths were killed early Friday in a single vehicle motorcycle accident. Emergency services were called to the scene on Bonampak Avenue around 3:30 a.m. after the motorcycle spilled both on board.
A young man and woman were found laying on the avenue near their motorcycle. The 23 year old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene after being thrown from his bike and into the base of a tree.
His young passenger, reported to be a 16 year old female, was transferred to Cancun hospital where she died shortly after arriving. The teen was found by paramedics without a helmet after it fell off during impact.
The accident happened near the entrance to Puerto Cancun where, according to witnesses, the driver lost control on the wet pavement due to speed.
