Cozumel, Q.R. — A tourist to the island of Cozumel has died after drowning while participating in flyboarding.
According to la Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), the young Israeli tourist drowned after getting caught between swimming markers (buoys). The accident happened at Playa Sunset at kilometer 3.5 of the southern coastal highway next to the Naval Search, Rescue and Maritime Surveillance Station.
Paramedics, along with elements of the Secretariat of the Navy, arrived to provide first aid with the support of tourism service providers, however, the young man no longer had vital signs.
The victim has been identified as 21-year-old Yosey Eliezer Shlom. His body was transferred by personnel of the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) to the facilities of the Forensic Medical Service.
