Young driver fined for driving public transport bus off road

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The driver of a public transport bus was fined Friday after driving off the highway. Police and National Guard were notified of the single vehicle accident on a rural road in Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

The driver, 25-year-old Juan “N”, told police he simply lost control of the bus and accidently drove it off the road. The bus was found rear-down in a ravine along the Ramón highway after plowing through vegetation.

A tow truck was called to pull it free and transfer the old model vehicle to the corral. In the process, the young driver was fined for carless driving. Nobody was hurt in the bus accident. The bus, which is owned by a company, suffered front and back end damage.
