Women ‘under influence’ hospitalized from Tulum condo

Tulum, Q.R. — Two women reported under the influence of narcotics were secured and transferred to hospital Tuesday in Tulum. One of the women was removed from a condo building after reports of her attempting to jump from the second floor balcony.

It was around noon when police responded to the 9-1-1 report of a woman on the second floor on a building on Coba Avenue. When they arrived, the female tourist is reported to have told police she believed she was being kidnapped.

Firefighters climbed up the outside of the building to the balcony to prevent her from jumping. While doing so, a second woman from inside the unit ran outside frantically asking for help.

Both women were secured to avoid self-injury and transferred to hospital. According to media reports, both were found to be under the influence of a hallucinogenic drug. Local authorities have not commented on the incident.
