Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A woman died Wednesday after being rushed to hospital from under the back wheels of a semi. The accident happened Wednesday afternoon on Constituyentes Avenue at 53rd Street when a young woman driving a motorcycle with two children hit the side of the double long unit.

The driver of the semi flatbeds was unable to stop in time. The female driver of the motorbike hit the side of the semi and ended up under the rear wheels of the first flatbed. Black tire marks were left on the road from the driver’s effort to stop. The woman was dragged for several meters.
A forklift was used to maneuver the back of the semi tires and free the woman. She was rushed to hospital but died hours later. The two minors on the bike suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The now deceased woman was reported to be the mother of the two children.

Municipal Transit were at the scene when the woman was removed from under the tires. A Red Cross ambulance rushed her to hospital. Witnesses say the female driver of the motorcycle failed to stop at the marked intersection. Police have not commented on charges.
