Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Two men involved in the attempted robbery of a Puerto Morelos jewelry store have been captured. On Friday, the State Attorney General (FGE) identified them as Johan Diego “N” and Daniel Enrique “N”.

The FGE, in coordination with members of the Citizen Security Secretariat of Puerto Morelos, “captured two men for their probable involvement in acts possibly constituting the crimes of attempted homicide and attempted robbery,” authorities said Friday.

“Johan Diego “N” and Daniel Enrique “N” were arrested after attempting to rob an establishment located on the Reforma Agraria-Puerto Juárez highway at kilometer 315 in the municipality of Puerto Morelos.

“Initial investigations indicate that around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 26th of this year, five people arrived at the business and began shooting at a Municipal Police officer who was at the security booth. The attack was repelled, causing the assailants to flee down a dirt road in a gray car and motorcycles.

“While implementing a search operation, municipal agents spotted two people, Johan Diego “N” and Daniel Enrique “N”, who, upon noticing the police presence, attempted to flee aboard a black and gray MV motorcycle.
