José María Morelos, Q.R. — A large fire that was quickly fanned by strong winds destroyed two homes and damaged a workshop. The fire happened Friday evening at an address on Tepich Street in the town of José María Morelos.

One of the homes that burned had a palapa rooftop. Flames spread fast due to the extremely dry conditions paired with strong winds. Firemen were able to extinguish the fast moving fire before it reached other homes.
By the time the fires were deemed officially out, two homes had been completely destroyed. A mechanic workshop was also partially damaged by the fire. Civil Protection and firemen are continuing their work to determine an official cause.
