Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — Two people who threw packages of drugs onto the Playa del Carmen prison property were quickly recovered by police and placed under arrest.
The unusual incident happened when the couple were seen pulling up in a red Dodge then heaving the two packages of marijuana over a prison wall before fleeing. Both packages landed on prison property.
A policeman witnessed the pair throwing the drugs over the wall and was quick to notify others who were successful in locating and intercepting the Dodge vehicle. The two were removed from the vehicle and placed under arrest.
One of the two packages of marijuana also contained a micro SD card. The arrested have been identified as 23-year-old Martha Lilia S.M. from Tabasco and 31-year-old Raúl Z.P. from Chiapas. Both were handed over to the Office of the Special Prosecutor for drug related crimes.
