Tulum cab driver rolls taxi off Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway

Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A Tulum taxi driver was not seriously injured after rolling his cab Friday afternoon. Motorists stopped to help the driver after he flipped into vegetation outside the town of Dzula in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.

A group of people traveling on motorcycles stopped to assist the stuck driver, helping him out of his taxi. The driver reportedly lost control and swerved into a fixed object that caused him to roll.

According to municipal traffic agents, the Tulum taxi driver was heading north on the state highway that leads to the community of Dzula when he lost control for reasons unknown.

His cab “partially left the road, however, when trying to join again he ended up colliding with a fixed object, a concrete post.”

While the driver was not seriously injured, his cab was a write off. A tow truck eventually arrived to haul the damaged taxi away to the impound lot.
