Three killed in Puerto Morelos shooting

Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — The Attorney General’s Office of Quintana Roo says they are investigating the deadly shooting of three in Puerto Morelos Tuesday.

The trio were fired upon while sitting inside a parked pickup truck outside a convenience store in the Villas Morelos I subdivision of Puerto Morelos. Witnesses say armed subjects opened fire against the truck. Neighbors claim to have heard as many as 20 shots.

Inside the vehicle, two people were killed, one of whom has been identified as Juan Daniel H.A. The third person from the vehicle was also hit and taken to hospital by ambulance, but died shortly after arriving. He has been identified as Erick L.G. The second victim who died inside the vehicle has not yet been identified.

The Attorney General’s Office reports the shooting occurred around 4:55 p.m. on Timón Avenue at the intersection of Joaquin Hendricks Boulevard in the municipality of Puerto Morelos. The victims were aboard a red pick up truck when they were intercepted by several male persons who fired against the vehicle, and after the attack, fled.
