Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — A truck transporting amusement rides overturned on Federal 184 in the municipality of Felipe Carrillo Puerto. The Wednesday afternoon accident left both lanes of the highway completely shut.
National Guard Highway personnel were at the scene redirecting motorists to other routes while the roadway mess was resolved. Police were also called in to coordinate vehicle removal since the overturned trailer left fair rides scattered in all directions.
The driver is reported to have swerved off the highway. In an attempt to correct the swerve, he overturned, spilling the rides across the highway. Two tow trucks eventually arrived to assist in clearing the road.
The fair was on its way to the Expomor in José María Morelos at the time of the noon accident. There was no report of any injuries.
