Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Several people were taken to hospital from a single vehicle Puerto Morelos highway accident Sunday. Civil Protection and firefighters from Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos attended the scene of the single vehicle rollover.
The private MPV was reported carrying eight people when it landed on its roof in the center of the highway.

According to early information, the driver of the Nissan lost control due to excessive speed and driver inexperience, causing it to leave the road and came to a stop on its roof in the central median.
National Guard Highways directed traffic in the northbound lane heading toward Cancun due to the rollover.
Paramedics treated all eight at the scene, however, only three were transferred to local hospitals. There were no life-threatening injuries reported.
Sunday afternoon traffic toward Cancun was disrupted while the vehicle was towed from the scene.
