José María Morelos, Q.R. — An elderly man was found alive after missing in the jungle more than 18 hours. The elderly farmer left his community of Adolfo López Mateos Tuesday morning.
The man was with several others who went to clear brush from land in a neighboring community early Tuesday morning. Everyone returned at 11:00 a.m. except the elderly man. By late afternoon, the man had not appeared, so authorities were notified.
A search group of police, firemen and volunteers was organized by Civil Protection who searched the area until 10:00 p.m. Tuesday night. The search was halted due to darkness, but resumed the next morning at 6:00 a.m. He was found approximately three hours later, around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday morning 18 hours after he had gone missing.

He was located deep in the jungle slightly dehydrated but conscious. An ambulance transferred him to the town’s hospital for a medical evaluation.
