Riviera Maya, Q.R. — An industrial truck carrying a load of dried grass was completely destroyed by fire. Solidaridad firemen were requested at the Riviera Maya home by the owner after seeing his truck burning.
The late night blaze took several hours to put out due to the amount of dried material. The owner of the large truck had it loaded with dried grass meant for the construction of a palapa.
Before he was able to deliver it, his load burned. Playa del Carmen firemen worked into the late hours to ensure the fire was out before leaving. At least four firemen battled the stubborn fire which required a ladder to properly access due to the size of the truck.
The intense fire left firemen unable to save the industrial truck and its load of grass.
Authorities have not reported on a possible cause for the late night fire. The SPC (Secretaría de Protección Civil, Prevención de Riesgos y Bomberos) did confirm however, that there were no injuries due to the blaze.
