Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — Medical personnel continue to work to identify the body of a man found along a Felipe Carrillo Puerto highway. Passing motorists reported smelling a foul odor Tuesday.
Police arrived at the highway site between Muyil and Pino Suárez where they confirmed the remains of an adult male. The man had been dead for several days. He was located in thick jungle vegetation off the side of the highway.
Police sectioned off the wooded area along the side of the highway where the body was found. They have not speculated if the body was intentionally dumped or the result of a possible hit and run.
