Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Police have taken a Puerto Morelos man into custody on charges of child pyrography. The man was taken into custody Saturday night on an outstanding arrest warrant after local authorities were notified of his online activity by the German Cybercrime division.
The State Attorney General (FGE) reported executing the warrant “against a male identified as Tomás “N”, who is being investigated for his alleged involvement in acts possibly constituting the crime of human trafficking in its form of child pornography.”
Authorities say his arrest stems from a case file sent by the FGR (Attorney General of the Republic), who received the complaint from the Cologne Prosecutor’s Office, Central and Contact Service for Cybercrime in Germany.
The Cologne Prosecutor’s Office, Central and Contact Service Cybercrime of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, reported to Mexican authorities on the alleged possession and dissemination of files with characteristics of child sexual exploitation, they said.

“According to their information, between June 24 and August 9, 2020, the investigated party allegedly participated in a group in which he sent files and links to other similar groups, in addition to being linked to various digital identities,” police said in a statement.
After an investigation, authorities were able to identify Tomás “N”, “who allegedly used digital platforms to receive and store images and videos with child pornography.”
The judge who issued the arrest warrant also granted a search warrant for the home of Tomás “N”.
Police searched his residence on Joaquín Zetina Gasca Street in the Villas Morelos subdivision in the town of Puerto Morelos “where agents seized electronic devices such as cell phones, laptops, USB drives, a modem and external memory.”
Tomás “N” is facing human trafficking charges in the form of child pornography.
