Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Puerto Morelos Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz says the municipality is working with CFE to improve electrical service. Blanca Merari says she recently met with the superintendent of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), Héctor Raúl Pérez Arjona to evaluate actions to improve electricity service.
“Having good electrical service in urban areas and expanding public lighting coverage is a priority for this administration as it strengthens the safety of Puerto Morelos and improves the destination’s tourist image,” said the mayor.
Blanca Merari expressed her gratitude for the CFE team’s willingness to work in coordination with the municipal government with the goal of offering a quality service.
Mario Salinas, the Secretary of Public Works, explained that the meeting addressed topics such as the progress of the electrical interconnection in sectors 1 and 2 of the Leona Vicario Delegation, specifically in the areas known as Vaquerita and Getsemaní, in order to improve the energy supply.

The urgent need to prune vegetation that interferes with the power grid causing service interruptions was also raised, as well as to inspect the access road to Petempich Bay, an important route for workers and tourists to the tourist area.
The CFE superintendent agreed to secure resources and personnel to expedite the interconnection work in Vaquerita and Getsemaní. While a pruning operation will be scheduled in Puerto Morelos in coming days, priority analysis and monitoring of the Bahía Petempich road will be carried out with concrete actions to be taken in the short term.

Salinas said that on July 2, the CFE will be at the sports dome in the Zetina Gasca neighborhood starting at 8:30 a.m. to provide assistance to citizens on issues related to electricity service.
