Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — Hundreds turned out for a public Christmas celebration in Puerto Morelos. The Christmas atmosphere flooded the main park of the seaside town where hundreds gathered at the 2024 Christmas Festival organized by the City Council.
Mayor Blanca Merari Tziu Muñoz was on site with her family for the celebration that was decorated with red, green and white colors. The event consisted of Christmas carols, dancing and traditional characters. There was also a Christmas show and gifts for children.
The Mayor, accompanied by her daughter Joyce, thanked all the municipal departments and workers for their support in making the festival possible. Mayor Tziu Muñoz pointed out that everything done was in favor of the well-being and healthy development of the children of Puerto Morelos, which she says, will be reflected tomorrow in better citizens committed to their municipality.
She also reiterated the call to take advantage of public spaces to live together and form a united community, working hand in hand with its authorities so that things go well for all of us.
In the park, on the sidewalk and in the median strip of Joaquín Zetina Gasca Avenue, there were awnings where the different departments organized games, gave away candy, snacks and juices to the children, as well as face painting with Christmas motifs. The children also had the opportunity to take a photo with Santa, which was printed and handed out at the park’s kiosk.
Blanca Merari, accompanied by the general secretary José de Jesús Espinosa Payán, secretaries and directors of municipal departments, led the raffle of gifts on the stage, where children’s and youth dance groups also performed, as well as characters such as Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy, Olaf, the Grinch and a snowman, among others. The children also received a snack.
