Playa del Carmen, Q.R. — A Playa del Carmen woman was taken to hospital after totaling her vehicle Friday night. The driver of the SUV was traveling Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard when she hit a concrete structure belonging to CFE.
The structure, which was completely destroyed, housed CFE equipment next to a small substation.
The impact, due to speed, caused her vehicle to roll before coming to a stop meters from the initial crash site.
Several Municipal Transit vehicles arrived at the scene where they located the smashed vehicle. The woman inside suffered only an arm injury for which she was transferred to hospital.
Police have not commented on an official cause of the accident or possible charges regarding the demolition of the CFE housing station.
