Cancun, Q.R. — Two men have been formally charged with the attempted murder of two Cancun police officers. On Monday, the Attorney General reported the formal charges against Raúl M and Pedro M for the April 7 shooting that sent both officers to hospital.
The FGE reported that “the evidence presented by the prosecutors demonstrated the probable participation of the accused in the events that occurred on April 7 in the streets of the Bonfil Ejido in the municipality of Benito Juárez, where the agents – who were carrying out field work – were attacked with firearms by occupants of a black vehicle.”
With the support of the C5 cameras analysis of evidence, the two men were arrested and have since been presented before a judge. During their preliminary hearing, the Cancun judge order both Raúl M and Pedro M to remain incarcerated for the next three months while lawyers prepare for trial.
