Cozumel, Q.R. — Elements of the Secretariat of National Defense report the discovery of a package of drugs along a coastal section on the island of Cozumel.
According to military personnel, a package weighing approximately 1 kilo was found washed up along the northeastern portion of the island. The discovery was made by military personnel during a routine surveillance tour.
Inside, personnel noted the package contained cocaine. It was secured and handed over to the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) of Playa del Carmen.
The Secretariat of National Defense urges the community to report any cases in which they detect illegal objects on the beaches of the island to prevent the drugs from reaching the homes of Cozumel.
