Felipe Carrillo Puerto, Q.R. — The male driver of a Tsuru died Monday after crashing into a Jetta. At least four others were injured in the early morning two-vehicle crash. The accident happened on a section of the Tepich – San Ramón highway in the Mayan area of Felipe Carrillo Puerto.
Emergency services were made aware of the accident around 7:15 a.m. approximately halfway between the communities of Tepich and San Ramón. However, news of the crash spread fast and relatives arrived to rush the injured to hospital.
Paramedics confirmed the death of one adult male, that of the black Tsuru.
The accident created heavy traffic in the area, which continued until after 10:30 a.m. According to early information, the two private cars collided head on when one of the drivers was attempting to avoid a cyclist on a highway curve.
