Navy personnel locate washed up bricks of cocaine in Riviera Maya

Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Personnel from the Navy of Mexico have seized 45 bricks of cocaine from a Riviera Maya beach. The bricks of narcotics was located over the weekend on a beach area between PDC and Puerto Aventuras.

The 45 packages were sealed with industrial tape and marked with initials “CR7”. According to the Secretariat of the Navy, the drugs were found during a land surveillance patrol by naval personnel. Navy were patrolling for the maintenance of the rule of law with the support of an interceptor patrol, two smaller vessels and Marine Infantry personnel stationed in Puerto Aventuras and Playa del Carmen.

“During the search, 45 rectangular packages wrapped in black plastic were located and recovered on the coastline. Each package contained cocaine weighing approximately one kilo.

“As a result, the 45 packages were made available to the Attorney General’s Office , based in Playa del Carmen, for the compilation of the corresponding investigation file and determination of the official weight,” they said.
