Riviera Maya, Q.R. — Medical personnel treated one person for injuries at the site of a two vehicle crash Wednesday. Paramedics were requested Wednesday morning near the Barceló Hotel on federal 307 after a car and taxi collided.
The accident happened around 7:30 a.m. at a highway retorno located in front of the hotel.
According to initial reports, the driver of a black Suzuki Swift attempted to merge onto the highway when the driver met an oncoming taxi.
Both cars were traveling north when they collided.
The front seat passenger in the private car was injured. An ambulance transferred that person to a Playa del Carmen hospital.
National Guard Highways arrived at the scene to secure the area and coordinate the flow of traffic around the scene of the accident.
