Puerto Morelos, Q.R. — A three vehicle crash outside Puerto Morelos Sunday stalled highway traffic as emergency vehicles arrived. Two vans and one compact car were involved in the mid-morning crunch.
One of the vans came to a stop facing the shoulder while the other was left turned around in the opposite direction of traffic. The compact car was located completely off the road in the ditch.
The accident happened on a section of highway south of Puerto Morelos. National Guard Highways were first on scene followed by police, firemen and ambulances.
It is not known how many people were hurt in the three vehicle accident. Authorities have not provided an official cause.
On Saturday, an accident also involving a transport van happened outside Cancun leaving the driver dead and five tourists inside injured.
